              and Smart Start Wizard.
           b. Fixed a dual-CPUs problem for Virtual TA Clients.

        2. [ISDN interface control]
Add a ISDN interface control option on Web Configurator to enable or disable
ISDN port. You will find the option in "ISDN Setup" of Basic Setup group.

        3. [PPP-over-V.110]
Support PPP over V.110 protocol for GSM mobile users remote dial-in access.

        4. [MTU setting for WAN]
Add a Telnet command "wan mtu ..." to set the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit)
for the Ethernet WAN interface. You can use this command to configure the
MTU size for ISDN, PPPoE, PPTP and Static IP modes.

        5. [SNMP Agent]
Support SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) for improving the capabilities
of network management. You will find SNMP Setup in the "Management Setup" of
           System Management group.

        6. [DDNS function]

        8. [Online Status]
Add a System Uptime on the "Online Status" page of web configurator.

        9. [DHCP Server]
If put zero in the IP Pool Counts, the dynamic IP pool will be disabled. Now you
can use Telnet command set "srv dhcp fixip" to add or delete static IP pool. This
static IP pool supports 10 IP addresses.

           > srv dhcp fixip ?
           % Valid subcommands are:
           add clr del

Under the "srv dhcp fixip" command string, it support three subcommands: "add",
           "clr" and "del".

           > srv dhcp fixip add ?
           % srv dhcp fixip add <IP Addr> <MAC Addr XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX> <Host ID>

The "add" subcommand can add a specific IP address based on host's Ethernet MAC
address. The Host ID is optional. For example, if you want to specify a IP address
192.168.1.123 to a specific computer with MAC address 00-50-7F-12-34-56, you can
try the following command to add.

           > srv dhcp fixip add 192.168.1.123 00-50-7F-12-34-56 vigor

           > srv dhcp fixip del ?
           % srv dhcp fixip del <IP Addr>

The "del" subcommand can delete a pre-assigned IP address from the static IP pool.
           For example,

           > srv dhcp fixip del 192.168.1.123

the host 192.168.1.123 will be removed from the static IP pool.

           > srv dhcp fixip clr

The "clr" subcommand can clear the static IP pool to default values.

       10. [Verify default Settings]
A new Telnet command "sys cfg status" can check if the router is working with
default settings. If yes, you will see the following message.

           > sys cfg status

           Profile version: 0x2 Status: 0 (0x293ab002)

where Status: 0 (0x293ab002) means the router is default settings.

       11. [Auto Firmware Upgrade]
After v1.07 version, Vigor2200 will support Auto Firmware Upgrade Utility to
update vigor's firmware automatically. Now, the utility just can run on the

You will find SNMP Setup in the "Management Setup" of

can use Telnet command set "srv dhcp fixip" to add or delete static IP pool. This
static IP pool supports 10 IP addresses.

           > srv dhcp fixip ?
           % Valid subcommands are:
           add clr del

Under the "srv dhcp fixip" command string, it support three subcommands: "add",
           "clr" and "del".

           > srv dhcp fixip add ?
           % srv dhcp fixip add <IP Addr> <MAC Addr XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX> <Host ID>

The "add" subcommand can add a specific IP address based on host's Ethernet MAC
address. The Host ID is optional. For example, if you want to specify a IP address
192.168.1.123 to a specific computer with MAC address 00-50-7F-12-34-56, you can
try the following command to add.

           > srv dhcp fixip add 192.168.1.123 00-50-7F-12-34-56 vigor

           > srv dhcp fixip del ?
           % srv dhcp fixip del <IP Addr>

The "del" subcommand can delete a pre-assigned IP address from the static IP pool.
           For example,

           > srv dhcp fixip del 192.168.1.123

the host 192.168.1.123 will be removed from the static IP pool.

           > srv dhcp fixip clr

The "clr" subcommand can clear the static IP pool to default values.

       10. [Verify default Settings]
A new Telnet command "sys cfg status" can check if the router is working with
default settings. If yes, you will see the following message.

           > sys cfg status
           Profile version: 0x2 Status: 0 (0x293ab002)

where Status: 0 (0x293ab002) means the router is default settings.

    Hint for upgrading Firmware:

        1. The file v2k00106.all should be upgraded under the boot loader mode.
Please use console port (RS-232 with 115200 8n1) to force the router enter
           boot loader mode.
        2. If you don't care the current settings in your Vigor2000 or you want to
reset the router, you should upgrade v2k00106.rst to resotore settings
to be default values. We recommended you upgrade this file, if your
router firmware version is older than v1.03.
        3. If you can't connect to console port to force router enter boot loader mode
to upgrade *.all or *.rst file, please enable TFTP server via Web Configurator
to upgrade *.bin first and then *.web. Note that you have to wait for 10
seconds between two upgrading procedures. Finishing all upgrade, please power
           off-on again.

    Release Note:

     1. PPTP client for few specific PPTP-enabled ADSL modem

To click "Quick Setup" > "Internet Access Setup" > "PPTP" configures
PPTP and also can configure the ISDN dial backup settings.

Note: Before you enable the PPTP client, you should use 2nd IP address to connect
to the ADSL modem. Please click "Basic Setup" > "Ethernet TCP/IP and DHCP
Setup" to enable the 2nd IP address and assign the IP address and subnet mask.

     2. Netmeeting support

The Netmeeting support is just a beta release. Based on the current release, you
just can make a Netmeeting call directly using peer IP address. If you want to peer
to call into your local Netmeeting software, please add two port redirection entries
in the "Advanced Setup" > "NAT Setup" > "Configure Port Redirection Table". These
additional ports is TCP/1720 and TCP/1503. However, the ILS server support should
be released in the next version.

     3. PPTP Tunnel Passthru

This version supports any of PPTP clients could create a tunnel through the router to
establish a secure channel with outside PPTP server.

     4. PPPoE Enhancement

This version has done some significant performance improvement for T-DSL services
in Germany. If you are a T-DSL user, please use the version.

     5. Tools for Windows Platform

Now, the Windows utility has been separate to two independent installers,
one is named "Router Tools" including "Firmware Upgrade Utility" and "Smart Start
Wizard", the other is named "Virtual TA" client driver which has been supported for
Win95 OSR2.1, Win98 and Win2000. The Router Tools can support whole Windows platforms.

     6. LAN-to-LAN Profile bug

Fixed a bug which the LAN-to-LAN profile settings will be clear to be default
        value after upgrade new firmware.

     7. Call Control Parameters

Please click "Advanced Setup" > "Call Control and PPP/MP Setup", you will see the
following two parameters: Dial Retry and Dial Delay Interval. These are globally
settings for all dial-out mechanism, such as ISDN dialup, PPPoE or PPTP for ADSL
access. The Dial Retry means the router will dial the preset times per outgoing
packet. The Dial Delay Interval means the time interval between two re-dials.

     8. Remote Activation Function

Please click "Advanced Setup" > "Call Control and PPP/MP Setup", you will see the
"Remote Activation" field. You should specify the caller phone number here. Once the
router receives a call from the specified phone or ISDN line number, it is will
drop the incoming call immediatelly and then dial to the ISP for the Internet access.
If you are a fixed IP user, the router will be wake up remotely, then you could
access to your local network resource very easy.

Note: Before you enable the function, you should set a ISP access profile following
the links "Quick Setup" > "Internet Access Setup" > "Dialling to Single ISP".

     9. Remote Management

Add a "Allowing management from the Internet" checkbox on the Management Setup page
of Web Configurator. By default, the checkbox is unchecked. It means the router
can NOT configure from the Internet.

seconds between two upgeading procedures. Finishing all upgrade, please power
           off-on again.

    New Features:

        1. PPPoE with ISDN dial backup

To click "Quick Setup" > "Internet Access Setup" > "PPPoE" configures
PPPoE and also can configure the ISDN dial backup settings.

        2. LAN-to-LAN connectivity (local LAN to remote LAN communications)

To click "Advanced Setup" > "LAN-to-LAN Dialer Profile Setup" configures
LAN-to-LAN dialer profiles for LAN-to-LAN communications. Current beta version
just supports the 1st IP network which is for NAT usage to route to remote
        network.

        3. Management Port Change and Access Control

To click "System Management" > "Management Setup" configures the HTTP and Telnet
port number, also access control for management host. The Access Control means
system administrator can limit the management host from specific network or host.
That is more secure for system administrator.

        4. Web-based IP Filter/Firewall Configuration

To click "Advanced Setup" > "IP Filter/Firewall Setup" configures IP filter rules.
The basic Firewall concept is described as below.

        Inside Network Outside Network
                                +----------+
        ------------------------+ Firewall +-----------------------------------
                                +----------+
        1st IP network ISDN dial-out/dial-in
        2nd IP network or PPPoE
                                               or LAN-to-LAN connection
                                               or IDSL (U-interface)

Current beta release, Vigor2000 supports these filter rules to defend heakers
attack form outside network, and also limit some access rights for inside network.

    [Updated Features, 2000/07/15]

        1. Add Enable/Disable radio for 2nd IP configurations, please click
"Basic Setup" > "Ethernet TCP/IP and DHCP Setup". Also, once the
1st IP or 2nd IP configurations has been changed, the start IP
address of DHCP server will follow the change.

        2. Add "Exchange RIP Packets" item on each LAN-to-LAN dialer profile.
If you want to use 1st IP subnet to make a outgoing call, and
select "2nd Subnet" for exchanging RIP packets, the 1st IP subnet
will be a non-routable subnet behind of NAT engine. Another
application, you can use 1st IP subnet to make a remote network
connection with IP routing, when you select "1st Subnet" to exchange
           RIP packets.

        3. Add Telnet-based simplified "Call Log" for troubleshooting. You can
use "log -c" command to show all call log.

    [Updated Features, 2000/08/08]

        1. Improve a RIP stable problem somehow RIP task will crash all
           the system.

        2. Increase IP counts for DHCP server to 253 hosts, also the
default Start IP Address of DHCP server has been changed to be
           192.168.1.10.

        3. Remove "Static Route Setup" on Advanced Setup group. The reason we merge
the static route function in the LAN-to-LAN Dialer Profile Setup. Please
check each profile includes a TCP/IP Network Settings subgroup. The Remote
Gateway IP means remote node's gateway IP address, Remote Network IP means
remote node network ID (ex. 192.168.1.0 is the network IP of 192.168.1.0
with netwrok mask 255.255.255.0(24)) and Remote Neetwork Mask is remote
           node's network mask.
Once this profile has been matched by any triggered packets from local
network, Vigor2000 will select the matched profile to dial to remote node
and also will add a static route on routing table.

        4. If you want to create another ISP access using LAN-to-LAN Dialer Profile
Setup. Please force Exchange RIP Packets to "2nd subnet". It means all of
IP addresses/ports on the 1st subnet will be translated by NAT engine.

        5. If you want to reject some packets to trigger Vigor2000 dialing, but allow
these packets can be forwarding to outside network during online. You can
set filter rules on Call Filter. Please click "IP Filter/Firewall Setup"
on Advanced Setup group and click "Set 1 Default Call Filter" > "2" to add
           a call filter.

        6. When you updating LAN IP address the Start IP Address of DHCP server will
           be followed.

        7. Fixed some bugs on "IP Filter/Firewall Setup". Now any kind of illegal
configurations will not display CGI error.

        8. Add a Vigor2000 Tools for Windows NT platform named VSetup.exe. In this
tool does not include Virtual TA client driver, just Smart Start Wizard
           and Firmware Upgrade Utility.

        9. Fixed a configuration backup function using Firmware Upgrade Utility.

How to backup Vigor2000's current running configuration:

           (1) Open Firmware Upgrade Utility and click Option menu to select
Download Configuration on Vigor2000 Tools group.
           (2) Type router's IP on Host box.
           (3) Give a file name on Save File box or click Brose to select a
file to save. The file name should be formated as v2kxxxxx.cfg
where xxxxx should be number characters.
           (4) Enable TFTP server using Web Configrator.
           (5) Push Download button to get configurations rom file back.

***********************************************************************************************

    Hint for upgrading Firmware:

        1. For this revision you have to upload either "V2k00101.all" or
"V2k00101.rst" depending on your current firmware version. Both of
the files should be uploaded under the boot loader mode. Please refer
to "fmup.doc" for details of how to enter the boot loader mode
as well as which file to upload.

        2. For later revisions, if the DrayWeb is not modified, you may use
the easizer run-time firmware upgrade function in the DrayWeb's
"System Utilities" >> "F/W Upgrade" to upload the binary program
code that is "V2k00101.bin" for Version 1.01.

    Improvements:

        [DrayWeb]

        1. You can follow the steps below to create an access server using
           Vigor2000:

            --------------+-------------------------------- Company Network
                          |
                          |
                     +-----------+
                     | |
                     | Vigor2000 |
                     | |
                     +--+--------+
                        |
                        |ISDN for dial-in only

Step1: set IP and netmask (public IP) to fit your company network using
               console port.

Step2: Enable remote dial-in, please follows "Quick Setup" >> "Remote
Dial-In" to configure them. Here you HAVE to assign company
IPs (public IP) for dial-in users to user.

Step3: Following the last step, to create a dial-in access account
               for remote Vigor2000 dialup.

Step4: Turn off NAT server, using TUI command as following.

               draytek > srv nat off

Step5: Reboot router using the following TUI command.

               draytek > sys reboot

... Now you will lost Telnet connection ...

Step6: After power-on to add a static/default route for accessing
world-wide Internet via TUI command as below.

               draytek > ip route add 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 <gateway IP> 0 default

               where

<gateway IP> should use your company's default gateway IP.

Note: Current version the static route will be lost when router
                     power down.

Step7: Now you can use another Vigor2000 to dial into the access
               server made by Vigor2000 too.

        2. Make sure your Virtual TA client is up-to-date VSetup95.EXE and
           VSetup98.EXE.
